Become a Visiting Scholar

The University of Oxford China Centre welcomes applications from exceptional scholars around the world engaged in China-related work to apply to be a visiting scholar. Visiting scholars receive an affiliation with the centre, a Bodleian Card providing full access to the university’s library and electronic resources, and are welcomed into the academic and community life of the centre. Administrative fees apply and are £1750 per annum. To apply please complete the form below and arrange for a brief letter of support from a University of Oxford China Centre associate to be sent under separate cover. All materials should be emailed to: information@chinese.ox.ac.uk. Please note, applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but reasonable time will be required for their assessment, as they must be reviewed for approval by the China Centre Management Committee. Applications will be judged on the fit of the project, the scholarly profile of the applicant, and the potential contribution to the China Centre community. Applicants will be expected to have completed their doctoral degree prior to becoming a visiting scholar.
